Bridge Foundation Announces response to assist victims of recent conflict in Gaza

Update: New Canaan’s Bridge Foundation is sending an immediate air shipment to assist the civilian population affected by recent fighting in Gaza.

New Canaan, CT – Bridge Foundation began its response to the recent escalation in Gaza on Friday January 30, 2009. Initial efforts will be an air shipment of essential drugs to assist with the overburdened healthcare system in Gaza.  Additional supplies are planned to meet the long-term needs of those affected in the post conflict.  Initial supplies are focused in dealing with basic healthcare needs of the population, particularly those of children and elderly who suffer most.

Bridge Foundation is partnering with The Hashemite Charity Organization and International Medical Corps. Bridge Foundation principal, Andrew Hannah said,” we are happy to help those most in need during this difficult time”.  Our partners will be focusing on five different sites in Northern Gaza in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.

Bridge Foundation was founded in 2002 and has provided emergency aid to Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan (Darfur), Chad, Congo, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Indonesia, Jamaica and Lebanon. Bridge Foundation has also assisted domestically in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana and West Virginia.   Bridge Foundation is an IRS registered 501©(3) tax exempt organization.
