As Hurricane Rita continued to unleash dangerous wind and rain across Texas and the Gulf Coast, generators provided by Bridge Foundation became operational at the Mauriceville Elementary School, which served as the center for all Emergency Operations in Orange County, Texas.  The Mauriceville area was one of the hardest hit by Hurricane Rita.  Additional generators provided by Bridge Foundation were utilized to supply power for water pumping stations in Orange County.

As the generators came online, emergency personnel began restoring communications and preparing the center as a temporary shelter as the back end of the storm passes through the region.  In addition, tractor-trailers packed with bottled water were delivered to the area and were handed out to first-responders and victims within 24 hours of Hurricane Rita's destruction.
