Andrew Hannah has been involved in charitable work his entire life and a non-profit executive for more than twenty years. Mr. Hannah was a founder of the Christmas in April program in Philadelphia. With AmeriCares, a leading US-based non-governmental organization, and now Bridge Foundation, Mr. Hannah has been instrumental in leading relief efforts in most of the complex humanitarian emergencies over the last twenty five years including projects in the following countries:
Darfur Sudan, Eastern Chad, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Congo, Gabon, Albania, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Grenada and the US Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina within the last 5 years. And previously, to Bosnia, Cuba, Kosova, Somalia, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Chechnya, Azerbaijan, Georgia and North Korea.
Mr. Hannah has provided commentary on humanitarian relief issues to numerous broadcast media including: CBS Evening News, NBC News with Tom Brokaw, Today Show, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Charlie Rose Show, Fox News Network, CNN, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's The Journal, Public Eye with Bryant Gumbel and many others. Mr. Hannah has been quoted in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Post, Hartford Courant, Time, Newsweek, and Business Week and numerous other publications. He has provided testimony to the House Committee on International Relations and has participated on panels at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, the University of Notre Dame Business School and the Woodrow Wilson Center.
Mr. Hannah divides his time between New Canaan, Connecticut where Bridge Foundation maintains its offices and a home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Prior to co-founding Bridge Foundation in 2002, Mr. Skakel spent more than 10 years with a leading US-based non-governmental organization, AmeriCares, as an Account Executive, later becoming Executive Vice President of Operations. In that capacity, he helped provide indigenous healthcare providers in more than 130 countries with essential drugs. He helped create and expand US pharmaceutical initiatives to assist indigent populations with free medication at more than $170M per year. He also helped increased in-kind donations from $90M to $460M per year.
Bridge Foundation is a nonprofit humanitarian aid and development organization that promotes and supports the improvement of human health and nutrition worldwide. Since its founding, Bridge Foundation has completed airlifts of life saving supplies to numerous countries including Darfur Sudan, Eastern Chad, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Congo, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, North Korea and the US Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Skakel has been instrumental in relief efforts to numerous countries including Albania, Afghanistan, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, Chechnya, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Gabon, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mexico, Panama, Russia, Rwanda, Slovenia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Zaire.
Mr. Skakel has been featured in numerous media outlets including Charlie Rose, Good Morning America, Today Show, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, USA Today, and various local and foreign press to name a few. He has been published as co-author in the Journal of Forensic Science, “Identification of War Victims From Mass Graves in Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina by use of Standard Forensic Methods and DNA Typing”.
Mr. Skakel has also been an avid speaker on humanitarian issues and has received numerous awards including; Commendation for significant contribution to field of Forensic Science from Dr. Henry Lee, Connecticut State Police; Award of Excellence from Dr. Pleurat Sedju, Kosovar Minister of Health for contributions during and after the war, 2001; Commendations for Assistance during 1999 Earthquake from Kocaeli University & Istanbul Rotary Club, 1999 and the Croatian Medal of Freedom from President Franjo Tudjman.
